I was home from college for the summer and working at a boutique in Wayzata, MN. My days were spent watching the Vampire Diaries on my iPad or reading a book waiting for someone to walk in. Besides trying to pass eight hours with my electronics, I also loved to try on all the clothes and investigate each brand in detail.
One day there was a trunk show being held during the evening featuring a mother-daughter jewelry brand. Their pieces were fairly popular with all the local women and I was curious to see more of their line in person. The trunk show was starting as I was heading home for the day, but I chatted with the owners briefly and purchased a necklace and bracelet. At the time I wasn't even a huge fan of wearing jewelry. I liked certain elements from different designers, but there was never a brand I had fallen in love with. I knew I would probably never find a line that had exactly what I was looking for, so I started thinking.... And that's when everything clicked.
I came home that night, showed my mom these pieces I had bought which looked easy enough to make (we quickly learned, it's not as easy as it looks) and said "Mom, let's start a company". We both had a great eye for design and I always thought it would be amazing my own brand #GOALS!
We decided to take the risk that very night and embarked on an adventure that we are still on two years later.
